The Right to Menstrual Health Project Session at Adalaj Village, Gujarat

We conducted our second session at the Government Girls’ School in Adalaj Village, Gujarat under The Right to Menstrual Health Project. The session entailed a workshop with the girls of 7th Standard, wherein apart from discussing the biological aspect of menstruation, they were also familiarised with the necessary nutrition and hygiene requirement during ones menstrual cycle. The session also focussed on conveying the importance of a healthy and regular period, while concurrently acknowledging, and dispelling myths and superstitions related to periods in rural India.

The girls were further emboldened to talk about menstrual health with their peers, family members (especially females) and female teachers to help them take responsibility to better their sexual and reproductive health.
